  • Funded by Glanbia and Enterprise Ireland our fund, Glanbia Enterprise Fund, is dedicated to helping food projects get off the ground.

  • We have a particular interest in projects involved in food ingredients, nutritional food products and consumer foods. We will also consider investments in technologies and services which improve food production efficiency.

  • We provide direct funding by way of minority equity investment of up to €750,000. We have access to other sources of capital also to invest in larger projects and subsequent rounds.

  • We have experience in funding projects at all stages of their business cycle. From early stage funding, development capital to flotation and stock market transactions we have done it. We understand the challenges, both financial and business, which face growing companies. We are committed to being a supportive partner with a view to helping our investee companies meet their goals.

  • We are independent of our shareholders. However, where appropriate we will access their knowledge and contact base for the benefit of our investee companies.

  • We frame our investment structure around the needs of the business and the goals and aspirations of the promoters. We seek to realise a commercial return on each investment over a period of 4-7 years.

  • Our first investment in the food area was into Freshways Ltd. in November 1998. The investment was realised four years later on the sale of Freshways Ltd. to Kerry Group plc. It was a win:win result for the Freshways promoters and us.
